Trust Officer - Wealth
Responsible for the day-to-day management and administration for a wide variety of Wealth Management trust accounts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Role Responsibilities Trust Administration- Responds promptly to client distribution requests and makes cash and asset distribution as required.
- Understands the needs of and duties to the principals, income beneficiaries, and remainder men.
- Shows a high level of professionalism toward trust beneficiaries, financial advisors, and other service professionals.
- Monitors the completion of trust tax returns.
- Complies with Trust Administration checklists related to closing accounts and account reviews.
- Completes annual account reviews as required by the South Dakota Division of Banking.
- Prepares appropriate presentations for Trust Committee review.
- Responsible for the administration of a complex book of personal trust accounts which may include supporting the administration of pooled trusts.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with interact with beneficiaries, financial advisors, and other third-party professionals.
- Aware of and follows company policies for electronic communications and internet use.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
- Able to understand and follow company policies regarding information security including password, multi-factor authentication, and remote access use.
- Very responsive to external partner communication.
- Timely completion of distribution requests.
- Update client interactions in CRM database.
- Ability to prioritize a high number of daily tasks.
- Exhibit sound judgment and the ability to make reasonable decisions in the absence of direction.
- Swiftly refer problems/issues to the appropriate person(s) when necessary.
- 2+ years of financial services or legal experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
- JD, CTFA, or CFP certification a plus.
