Scientist - Process Chemistry

Job Summary

• As an integral part of our innovation team, Scientist - Process Chemistry will collaborate with our partners in business development, marketing, sales, and production. They will ideate new product and process concepts, innovate solutions by utilizing the principles of process chemistry & chemical engineering, and create workable, as well as sustainable, production know‑hows. The Scientist - Process Chemistry is expected to set a high standard for quality and follow good housekeeping practices, business ethics, all applicable safety regulations.

Education:

Bachelors

• Maintain knowledge & expertise in technical areas of organic and organometallic chemistry
• Stay connected with the latest development in process chemistry
• Engage with internal innovation team in formulating project concepts
• Lead or actively contribute to well-defined project charters
• Develop hands‑on expertise for process chemistry
• Lead the development of technical solutions
• Validate technical prototypes
• Document all the innovation work
• Support product launch and post‑launch follow ups
• Create workable and sustainable production solutions
• Transfer workable solutions to designated production group
• Provide needed technical support to production
• Offer technical training to production group as needed
• Collaborate with different departments such as safety, quality, sales & marketing to introduce new products & processes
• Setting up small scale screening reactions
• Serve as a technical liaison with the other R&D or technical groups
• Serve as a mentor to junior members of the R&D team

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Chemistry or Engineering
• Experience in Distillation of organic compounds and design of distillation processes

OR

• B.S. in Chemistry or Engineering
• 3+ years of industrial experience in distillation

• Experience in calculating theoretical plates and choosing column packing material
• Strong experience in Schlenk‑line, glove box, and air sensitive chemistry techniques
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Chemical manufacturing/process development experience
• Experience with design of experiment methodology
• Understanding of statistical process control.

Skills:

Chemistry, High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
