About the Position The HVAC Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the complete engineering and design of HVAC, steam, and industrial process piping systems. This role involves hands-on technical work, project coordination, and field integration support to ensure system performance and installation quality. You will lead detailed system design efforts including load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping layout and sizing, control sequences, and technical specifications.
Your work will directly impact project bidding, permitting, construction execution, and commissioning. This is a high-visibility role that collaborates with project managers, estimators, and field operations to bring complex mechanical systems to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Design HVAC, steam, and process piping systems, including calculations and system layouts Select appropriate equipment and size ductwork and piping systems Develop control sequences and technical specifications for system operation Support estimating teams with bid packages and design information Prepare documents for permitting and regulatory submission Provide engineering oversight during installation, commissioning, and system start-up Coordinate closely with project management and field personnel to ensure design intent is met Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred but not required Minimum 7 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical system design (industrial or commercial experience preferred) Strong proficiency in HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, and system design software Solid understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and permitting requirements Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Experience in field commissioning or construction support is a plus Benefits Competitive salary: $135,000–$145,000 Annual performance-based bonuses Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and company holidaysaa
