Research Scientist, Chemical Engineer
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Process Chemistry Scientist for a position in Milwaukee, WI. As an integral part of an innovation team, you will collaborate with partners in business development, marketing, sales, and production to ideate new product and process concepts, innovate solutions, and create workable and sustainable production methodologies.
Rate: $34.81/hr
Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
All roles are related to the clinical and non-clinical development of competitive products and solutions. Activities include all aspects of research, technology development, product development, solution development, and testing. Design and synthesize compounds and materials. Employs structure/property relationships, scientific databases, and molecular modeling in multiparameter optimization of compound and material profiles.
Responsibilities- Maintain knowledge and expertise in technical areas of organic and organometallic chemistry
- Stay connected with the latest developments in process chemistry
- Engage with the internal innovation team in formulating project concepts
- Lead or actively contribute to well-defined project charters
- Develop hands‑on expertise for process chemistry
- Lead the development of technical solutions
- Validate technical prototypes
- Document all innovation work
- Support product launch and post‑launch follow‑ups
- Create workable and sustainable production solutions
- Transfer workable solutions to the designated production group
- Provide needed technical support to production
- Offer technical training to the production group as needed
- Set up small‑scale screening reactions
- Serve as a technical liaison with other R&D or technical groups
- Serve as a mentor to junior members of the R&D team
- Accountable for the quality of one's own work; provides solutions to problems based on practice, existing precedents, or procedures
- The Process Chemistry Scientist will use discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency
- Completes work with a limited degree of supervision
- Advanced degree in Chemistry or Engineering with experience in the distillation of organic compounds and the design of distillation processes OR
- B.S. in Chemistry or Engineering with 3+ years of industrial experience in distillation
- Requires proficiency through formal and job‑related training and considerable on‑the‑job experience.
- Experience in calculating theoretical plates and choosing column packing material
- Strong experience in Schlenk‑line, glove box, and air‑sensitive chemistry techniques
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Chemical manufacturing/process development experience
- Experience with the design of experiment methodology
- Understanding of statistical process control
- Must be clean‑shaven to wear a tight‑fitting respirator (per OSHA safety standards)
- Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship now and/or in the future.
