Job DescriptionReporting to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing various maintenance activities related to the plant equipment and building facilities. This role will partner with EH&S, Security, and Operations to ensure security and the efficient functioning and operation of buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds across Zurn Elkay campuses. The engineer will provide technical leadership and guidance in building technology, project management, maintenance, repair, construction, renovation, grounds, asset management, security, and facility cleaning and care.
Hands‑on maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) for building systems and equipment may be required.
- Support multiple functions and services including Facilities Management (Repair, Maintenance, and Cleaning), Health and Safety, Security, Capital Improvements, and Expense Management. This may be via internal partner organizations or third‑party vendors.
- Use CAD to create and maintain plant, warehouse, and facility layouts.
- Periodically complete repairs to minimize downtime, reduce parts/labor usage, and address problems proactively.
- Assist with all maintenance operations including, but not limited to, machinery, roof, HVAC, and boiler systems at various owned and leased locations.
- Continuously assess manufacturing facilities, perform repairs/improvements, and maintain operating machinery and supporting systems.
- Work closely with Production Manager, Supervisors, EHS Managers, and ZEBS Managers to resolve maintenance/facilities problems.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, create scope documents for bids, and analyze data to select equipment and services.
- Create and maintain a preventive maintenance program and electronic log for corporate buildings and other locations.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to facility PMs and systems.
- Requisit all materials and supplies necessary for equipment and building maintenance.
- Manage outside vendors for maintenance and facilities functions.
- Ensure corporate facilities are clean and well maintained.
- Coordinate with facility administrators to meet maintenance needs.
- Enhance and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program and log.
- Develop, implement, and administer operational policy programs and systems within functional areas.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Travel to other Zurn Elkay locations to assist with facility projects.
- Responsible for all racking layouts, including weight restrictions and change management.
