Clearance Requirement:
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information;
Active TS/SCI Poly required.
License/certifications Requirements: DC 1st Class Engineering License required.
Responsibilities- The Stationary Operations Engineer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining all stationary equipment within our facility, ensuring its optimal operation and safety. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the machinery, routine check-ups, troubleshooting, and efficient repair methods.
- Maintenance and Operation:
Safely operate, maintain, and monitor boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other stationary equipment. - Must be experienced in maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: chillers +/-500 tons, boilers, pumps, control systems, air handlers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, VAVs and VFDs. Demonstrate practical knowledge of Chiller Plant Operations, ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and specifications, and practical knowledge of building air systems. Respond to service calls for gas-fired boilers, chillers, AHUs, fire pumps, generators, UPS, ATS, BAS, and Fire Alarm operations.
- Routine Inspections:
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues, ensuring equipment is operating within set parameters and adhering to safety standards. - Respond to service calls by determining the problem, identifying the cause, and implementing a solution. Complete required documentation using the site CMMS system.
- Monitor gauges, meters, and charts; adjust controls to ensure safe and efficient operation; record logs; and maintain equipment in good working order. Perform preventive maintenance per site plans and company standards.
- Troubleshooting:
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements; ensure operations are logged and documented per organizational standards. - Compliance:
Ensure operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and standards related to stationary equipment operations. - Collaboration:
Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of issues. - Relays questions, progress, information requirements, and discrepancies in system and other issues impacting the operation of the building and its equipment; initiate follow-up action as required.
- Emergency Response:
Act as a first responder during stationary equipment emergencies, implementing safety procedures and addressing issues promptly. - Continuous Learning:
Stay updated with trends, equipment, and best practices; attend workshops and training as necessary.
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or GED.
- DC 1st Class Engineering License required.

Familiarity with the operations, maintenance, and repair of boilers, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, etc. - Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including sequence of operations, technical product literature, programming manuals and specifications.
- Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical equipment functions and use, HVAC systems controls applications.
- Pay Range: USD $54.45 - USD $87.12 per year.
