Stormwater Design Engineer

Overview

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a Stormwater Design Engineer to join the Transportation team in Wisconsin.

• Serves as a project engineer on projects and as a technical resource and/or project manager
• May assist with or lead marketing pursuits and/or act as a client contact
• Oversees analyses, computations, and preparation of plans and reports related to hydraulic problems in highway planning and design
• Provides technical advice on pollution control measures and prepares stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs)
• Recommends revisions to improve drainage design
• Prepares designs for detention/retention basins and other stormwater/storm quality solutions
• Develops probable construction cost estimates for specific tasks within assigned projects
• Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, permits, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and designs
• Uses computer aided engineering and design software to prepare engineering documents
• Visits project sites to monitor progress and handles routine construction administration
• Attends client meetings – days or nights
• Other duties as assigned

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required. The candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering from an accredited college or university and at least two (2) years of experience.

• PE license is preferred
• 3+ years of experience is preferred
• Familiarity with WisDOT hydraulics design guidelines, policies and procedures
• Experience with Civil 3D, Info Drainage, H&H software (HEC-RAS, EPA SWMM, Hydro
  
  CAD)
• Experience with Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS), Low Impact Design (LID), Stormwater Control Measure/BMP design
