Organizational OverviewNotre Dame School of Milwaukee is a Catholic School founded by the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Milwaukee, WI. The school was founded in 1996 as Notre Dame Middle School, an all girls 5th-8th grade middle school to serve Latinas on the southside of Milwaukee. Today Notre Dame School of Milwaukee is a Grade K3-8 Catholic school sponsored by the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
It has a co-education primary school serving boys and girls in a Spanish and English dual language model. NDSM addresses the urgent, critical needs of the community through student-focused education. We currently serve over 690 students across three campuses and we have both an all-boys and all-girls middle school, a co-ed primary school, and an Early Childhood Education program. Position OverviewUnder the direction of the Director of Graduate Support, the Graduate Support Coordinator plays a key role in implementing and supporting activities across the four pillars of the Graduate Support Program: core services, mentoring, scholarships, and post–high school assistance.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Graduate Support Coordinator will work a full time schedule. Hours may vary depending on the time of year and the demands of specific projects, events, or workshops. While the typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, occasional weekend availability may be required for GSP events. Responsibilities will include in-office work, parent meetings, and workshops, as well as travel between the BTC and SFC campuses.
The specific schedule, including time allocated at each campus, will be coordinated between the GSP Director and the Coordinator. Duties will be performed throughout the school year according to a timeline developed by the Graduate Program Director.
Required qualifications include a college degree, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
CORE SERVICES- Attend 8th grade Graduate Support Program (GSP) parent meetings.
- Support the Director of GSP during the high school application, CHOICE and financial aid season by attending workshops, assisting with paperwork and responding to family inquiries.
- Facilitate at least one eight-week GSP club session during ASP hours.
- Assist in the planning and facilitation of the summer writing workshop.
- Collaborate with the 8th grade team by remaining accessible for discussions and consultations regarding student progress , needs, and transitions.
- Facilitate at least one eight-week mentoring cohort during ASP hours, using an established and accessible curriculum.
- Support consistent communication with mentors regarding mentoring schedules, upcoming NDSM events, and required surveys.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of the mentoring program’s culminating event, including on-site support such as participant flow, mentor and student introductions, and general event logistics.
- Communicate with high schools to confirm the continued enrollment of students in the scholarship program.
- Support scholarship recipients by reminding them to reapply for scholarships and financial aid in advance of program and institutional deadlines.
- Create and distribute a list of approved service hour opportunities for students.
- Assist the Director of GSP in tracking, verifying, and recording service hours completed by scholarship recipients.
- Share information about local college fairs, job fairs, and internship opportunities with graduates through the GSP Newsletter.
- Create and distribute a list of approved service hour opportunities specifically for graduates.
- Attend high school check-in sessions with visit responsibilities coordinated between the Director of GSP and the GSP Coordinator by grade level (e.g., freshmen and seniors assigned to the Director).
- Support with developing an alumni association with various alumni supports and activities
- Be available to support tutoring sessions, GSP Club activities, or high school service initiatives.
