Position Summary
The Program Director implements, evaluates, and continuously improves the Master of Science in Precision Medicine program. This role provides leadership and guidance to faculty and staff in support of the program’s mission and goals, while monitoring program effectiveness and outcomes to promote long‑term growth, innovation, sustainability, and ongoing compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
Position Highlights Program Administration & Advancement- Responsible for all aspects of program leadership, including day‑to‑day operations, strategic initiatives, and policy development and review.
- Lead and support compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
- Contribute to long‑term planning to ensure fiscal stability, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate all aspects of the program, including curricular and training requirements.
- Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate personnel whose roles directly support the program.
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff regarding required continuing education and professional development.
- Assist in the review and revision of the program admissions process and recruitment strategies.
- Serve as a member of the Admissions Committee and contribute to holistic review and selection processes.
- Assist with administrative responsibilities such as hiring, onboarding, and personnel support.
- Serve on local, regional, national, and institutional committees that advance the program and the profession.
- Revise the program’s strategic plan, including mission, vision, goals, and philosophy, as needed.
- Lead monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement of coursework to ensure alignment with accrediting body curricular requirements.
- Serve as a course director and instructor within the program.
- Integrate multicultural experiences into instructional methods and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Identify and implement andragogical approaches that address diverse learning styles, utilizing effective technologies and alternative instructional delivery methods.
- Coordinate student professional development activities and experiential learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
- Serve as a student thesis research advisor and participate on thesis committees.
- Provide academic advising and support, including monitoring, evaluating, and remediating student performance as needed.
- Facilitate program evaluation activities, including curricular, programmatic, and leadership evaluations.
- Conduct surveys and interviews with alumni to assess employment outcomes, educational preparation, knowledge or skill gaps, professional achievements, and perceptions of program leadership.
- Contribute to program oversight through active participation in advisory and standing committees and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

- Knowledge of adult education practices and project management.

This is a full‑time faculty position with an anticipated start date of March 1, 2026. It includes a secondary appointment in the Institute for Health & Equity. The position is 0.15 to 0.2 FTE education and administration duties. Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with academic qualifications and experience in education, research, state and national contribution, and program administration.
QualificationsMinimum Required
Education:
Master’s degree in genetic counseling, precision medicine, or related discipline.
Preferred Experience:
Several of the following precision medicine graduate program experiences – course development, curricular design, mentoring, leadership, and management. Candidates must possess current knowledge and experience with trends in precision medicine, including curricula, andragogy, service models, and career paths.
