Position: Instructor, Art (Part-Time) Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred

Position Overview

We are seeking instructors to begin teaching in the fall 2026 semester. Candidates must have DAYTIME availability; evenings are not required. The role will involve teaching courses in‑person at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend, as directed by the Associate Dean of the General Education Pathway.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching‑related activities.
  • Manage the classroom/laboratory.
  • Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
  • Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
  • Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
  • Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
  • Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
  • Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
  • Support student organizations and activities.
  • Develop relationships with business and industry.
  • Complete program evaluation and follow‑up.
  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Core Qualifications
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • A master’s degree or higher in a Fine Arts discipline (e.g., Art, Design, Art History, Film).
    • A master’s degree or higher with at least eighteen (18) graduate credits in a Fine Arts discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual Spanish/English fluency (read, write, and speak).
  • Verifiable occupational work experience in a field other than education.
  • Experience teaching, using, and/or developing curriculum in face‑to‑face, blended, and 100% online settings.

  • Blackboard Ultra—Experience with Blackboard or similar web‑based course‑management systems.
  • Technology‑based Instruction—Experience with SMART symposium, interactive touch screens, LCD projectors, DVD players, or similar.
  • Emerging Technologies—Experience with social networking applications or similar.
Supplemental Information

Start Date:

Fall 2026 (approximately August 2026).

Hours:

Part‑time faculty pool position; assignments are temporary and will vary in hours/days based on course availability and departmental needs. All work must be performed in Wisconsin; no virtual opportunities for out‑of‑state residents.

Assignments may include any combination of:

  • Instructional Modality:
    In‑person, online, and/or hybrid.
  • Teaching Times:
    Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes.
Salary:
The starting hourly wage for all part‑time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Additional compensation for office hours and prep time is $70 per hour. Salaries are non‑negotiable. Application Materials & Requirements
