Position: NURSING FACULTY - PART TIME
Nursing Faculty Member

The School of Nursing and Allied Health at Wisconsin Lutheran College seeks nominations for candidates for a part-time (.5 FTE) faculty position. This faculty member will serve as a student-centered educator dedicated to fostering learning, retention, and successful program completion. Responsibilities include didactic instruction, clinical teaching, laboratory oversight in our on-campus nursing lab, and clinical supervision of students in healthcare settings throughout the Milwaukee area.

The annual teaching load is 12 credits for the professor track or 15 credits for the lecturer track.

Beyond teaching, you will play an integral role in the department by advising undergraduate nursing students, assisting with accreditation and assessment, and supporting recruitment efforts. Professor-track faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity, such as research, publications, or professional presentations.

Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to WLC's mission and the integration of a Christian worldview in higher education. This role requires flexibility for clinical site schedules and the physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds in a clinical environment. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, primarily during daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend availability for special events.

Compliance with all healthcare partner safety protocols is required.

Qualifications

* Education:

master's degree in nursing is required; a doctorate is preferred.

* Licensure: an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.

* Experience:

at least two years of clinical experience as an RN within the past five years; previous teaching or student supervision experience is highly preferred.

* Skills:

strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proficiency in learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).

Candidates must be an active member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS), or another confessional Lutheran denomination in fellowship with the WELS. Individuals are encouraged to nominate a qualified WELS/ELS individual using the brief nomination form. You may contact the Office of the Provost (joni.panitzke) regarding questions on the call process. Individuals may also self-nominate for this position.

Qualified candidates should send a cover letter discussing background, interests, and teaching philosophy in the context of a confessional Lutheran liberal arts college; curriculum vitae; and three letters of recommendation, including one letter from their pastor, discussing personal qualities via email to the Office of the Provost (joni.panitzke). Review of nominees will continue until a divine call has been issued and accepted and the position is filled.
