Overview

The Holyland Catholic School family is growing strong. We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to join our dedicated team. Candidates need to have a teaching license, be working toward a license, or have a bachelor's degree and want to go into education.

Job Summary

Prayerfully and actively educates and enhances each student’s life by academic engagement, behavior and spiritual growth rooted in the life of Christ. Builds a partnership with school parents to support lifelong learning of their child in the community.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the field of teacher education or a related field.
  • Current State of WI teaching license (or meet all requirements for a plan of study to obtain licensure).
  • Working knowledge of office software and computer programs.
  • Valid driver’s license for the State of Wisconsin preferred.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred.
  • Professional working attitude and collaborative approach.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with supervisor and staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Models Catholic spirituality, attitudes, and behaviors.
Responsibilities
  • Create a faith‑filled environment for learners by organizing physical space for learning, managing student behavior guided by Gospel values, and establishing classroom routines, rules, and procedures consistent with school policy.
  • Communicate high expectations for learning and create an engaging environment that supports student growth.
  • Work with families as partners in their child’s education by providing timely, consistent feedback and engaging families in the educational process and the life of the school.
  • Understand the school’s mission and role by serving as a role model for Gospel values and maintaining a professional demeanor aligned with the Code of Ethics.
  • Reflect on practice by taking responsibility for professional growth and participating in spiritual growth opportunities; prepare Mass and prayer services as assigned.
  • Contribute to a positive school environment by collaborating with colleagues and participating in school committees, activities, and events as it relates to the school’s environment.
  • Plan and deliver instruction using best practices; design coherent lessons/units aligned to Archdiocesan standards; transfer content knowledge with clear directions and developmentally appropriate explanations.
  • Provide differentiated learning opportunities; ensure timely completion of required parent communication, instruction, assessment, and grading documentation.
  • Supervise students during all contact times and in hallway travel.
  • Assess student learning using formal and informal methods to inform instruction; clearly identify and communicate assessment criteria; provide opportunities for student self‑assessment and monitoring.
Other Duties
  • Inform the Principal and staff of plans outside of the norm; attend all faculty and in‑service meetings; perform other duties as assigned.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; may need to lift up to 20 pounds; standard office environment equipment used.
