Job Purpose

Under the direction of the School Operations Manager and the Principal, the Food Service Coordinator will lead the preparation and serving of daily lunch and breakfast service for all scholars while ensuring the wellness plan is followed to fidelity. S/he will work closely with school leadership to provide a positive, clean, and safe cafeteria environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food for daily lunch and breakfast service in accordance with safe food handling practices as determined by the local Health Department.
  • Perform regular inventory and communicate orders to food service provider.
  • Properly label and store all perishable and nonperishable food items.
  • Communicate any concerns with food vendor and administration in a timely manner.
  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen surfaces, tabletops, floors, food trays, and dispose of garbage.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and complete paperwork as required by the department of education/instruction.
  • Maintain supply list for cleaning and communicate needs to School Operations Manager.
  • Ensure that wellness plan is followed.
  • Live and act as a biblical role model and HOPE Christian Schools representative in your life for our scholars, team members and community.
  • Agree to always comply with our Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith.
  • Agree to engage in the faith life of our scholars and in collaboration with other team members.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required.

  • Serve as a vigilant leader ensuring the physical safety and well‑being of scholars while on campus or off‑campus for school functions.

  • Build rapport with scholars, parents, and families.
  • Continually improve teaching skills by seeking constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate and complete records, including but not limited to: attendance, behavior, student achievement data, grades, progress reports, parent communication, textbooks, etc.
