The Dean of Student Success is responsible for shaping and sustaining Aug Prep s high school culture and ensuring students internalize the school s values for academic excellence and behavior expectations in partnership with the Administration and staff. The role develops preventative interventions and provides wraparound support to students who are not yet meeting expectations.
A St. Augustine Preparatory Dean of Student Success will:
Student Support- Promote attitudes, behaviors, and skills for improved learning, including behavior modification, attendance, and academic success.
- Encourage parental involvement in student achievement and faith-based school culture.
- Collect and manage culture metrics (attendance, graduation requirements, academics, social-emotional well-being, behavior).
- Intervene and mediate behavior situations; collaborate with teachers, social workers, and parents to determine student success. May draft behavior plans and enter information into Infinite Campus after discussion with safety, student advisor, and/or principal.
- Work with parents, students, social workers, advisors, and teachers to resolve policy/protocol breaches.
- Report to the principal to highlight data, seek approval for solutions, and evaluate effectiveness of implemented systems.
- Serve as a point of contact for teachers, advisors, and parents on student behavior and attendance issues.
- Promote and maintain positive home/school relationships and facilitate parent events.
- Oversee tardies, absences, and uniforms.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and school policies related to students and families.
- Analyze student data to identify trends, at-risk students, and achievement gaps.
- Develop, coordinate, and monitor academic intervention programs (e.g., tutoring, study skills, credit recovery).
- Oversee MTSS/RTI for academic and behavioral concerns.
- Collaborate with the Special Education team to support students with IEPs.
- Build trusting relationships with students so each child feels known and valued.
- Model the school s culture and values, showing respect and care for students and families.
- Support character development by reinforcing the Aug Prep Way: service, integrity, respect, courage, and perseverance.
- Communicate proactively with students, families, and colleagues, providing updates on progress, activities, and initiatives.
