Position Overview
Position Overview Raynor Library sits at the intellectual and geographic heart of Marquette University, serving as a vibrant center of scholarship and community for the campus. The library has embarked on an exciting transformation, with strategic planning and several key initiatives under way to strengthen its impact on learning and research. Notably, in fall 2024, the library will become the gateway to Marquette’s new Lemonis Center for Student Success, an innovative hub for academic support services for students.
Raynor Library is seeking an associate dean to oversee the Research and Engagement Division and to provide strategic direction, planning, and operational management for a broad range of essential service areas. This new position will focus on developing library faculty and staff and setting strategies to foster engaging user-centered library services and spaces.
The associate dean will oversee the following areas:
- Access Services (circulation, service desk, interlibrary loan, and stacks maintenance)
- Research, Teaching and Learning (instruction, research support, outreach)
- Digital Scholarship Team (a cross-unit strategy and advisory team)
Additionally, the associate dean’s responsibilities will include organizational development, managing compliance with university HR policies, and the library faculty promotion process.
The successful candidate will have the vision and drive to increase student, faculty, and community engagement with the library—from in-person programming to online exhibits—in support of library and university priorities. This position will be well suited to individuals who enjoy solving problems and developing people, and who thrive in the role of educator, scholar, and advocate.
