This is a full-time on-site role based in Milwaukee, WI for a Health Sciences Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Health Sciences Librarian will facilitate access to health sciences resources, provide library instruction and research support to students and faculty, and manage collections relevant to health sciences. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining metadata, ensuring efficient library services, and developing library programs that support the educational and research missions of the university.
The role will involve collaboration with faculty, staff, and other university departments to enhance learning and research across health science disciplines.
- Proficiency in Library Science and Library Services, with the ability to provide comprehensive support to academic and research library users.
- Experience with Metadata creation, cataloging, and organizing library resources effectively for ease of access and discovery.
- Expertise in Library Management with skills in resource acquisition, collection development, and operational efficiency.
- Strong ability to deliver effective Library Instruction, tailored to support diverse student and faculty needs for teaching and research.
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or a related field, with a specialization in health sciences preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a diverse academic community.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in library sciences and trends in health sciences education and research is a plus.
