PositionSummary
The Social Work Assistant supports student success by strengthening attendance, early intervention, and family engagement. Working under the supervision of the School Social Worker, this role focuses on case management, home visits, and proactive outreach to ensure students remain connected to school and supported before challenges escalate.
This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in an urban school setting who values collaboration, consistency, and relationship-based work.

- Location: Carmen Northwest Middle & High school
- Case management experience
- Experience working in a school setting
- Customer service experience with families and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively as a team player
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience working in an urban school environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Valid driver’s license and proof of active auto insurance
- Ability and willingness to use a personal vehicle to conduct home visits and community outreach
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field
- Experience supporting attendance initiatives or early intervention programs
- Bilingual abilities (preferred, not required)
- Provide case management support for students experiencing attendance, engagement, or behavioral challenges
- Monitor attendance data and support interventions for students at risk of chronic absenteeism
- Conduct home visits and family outreach to address barriers to school attendance
- Serve as a liaison between school, students, families, and community resources
- Support early intervention efforts to prevent escalation of student concerns
- Collaborate with social workers, deans, teachers, and administrators
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with school expectation
- Relationship-building and trust development
