Orientation & Transition Coordinator

Milwaukee, WI | Full Time | Job

The Orientation and Transition Coordinator supports the University of Wisconsin System and UW-Milwaukee enrollment goals through in-person onboarding experiences that integrate new students into campus community.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of orientation and transition student staff.
  • Manage orientation and transition staffing budget.
  • Plan logistics for in-person and online onboarding experiences for new UWM students, collaborating with the orientation and transition team.
  • Assess effectiveness of orientation and transition initiatives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on student affairs for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generate and analyze reports on curricular and unit outcomes.
  • Organize student-focused programming and resources to promote new educational initiatives.
  • Create and maintain schedules, logistics, and resources for student affairs programs, activities, and services.
  • Write, edit, and publish content for communication projects and marketing platforms aligned with strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population and/or event management.
  • Experience with mentoring, supervision, and training of student employees.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with New Student Programs/Orientation, Transition programming, Student Leadership Development or Student Activities in higher education.
  • Outstanding written communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating logistically challenging programs with partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting organizational mission, values, goals, and objectives in an academic setting.
  • Experience using Slate or similar CRM system.
Compensation

$45,000 – $52,000 per year.
