Dental Assistant

Overview

Progressive Community Health Centers, Inc. is hiring an experienced Dental Assistant for full‑time positions at our Milwaukee, WI location. The role requires direct supervision by a Dental Supervisor and focuses on patient care, sterilization, lab work, chair‑side assisting, and light clerical dutiesp>

• Actively participates in huddles, team meetings, and trainings.
• Checks in daily assignments for the day, floater, sterilization, or lab.
• Is aware of schedule and patient needs for the day.
• Prepares treatment trays per Operatory Setup guidelines.
• Prepares the operatory for appointments as needed.
• Greets patients, escorts them from reception, and electronically notifies the provider per EDR process.
• Assists both dentist and hygienist; maintains patient flow and schedule awareness.
• Collects, enters, and documents medical and dental histories, including vital signs.
• Notifies treating provider if blood pressure is pre‑hypertensive or higher.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant Certification program.
• At least six months of on‑the‑job training or experience in a dental office.
• BLS certification (required).
• Experience in a community health, public health, or community hospital setting is a plus.
• Must be vaccinated; all hired candidates must submit proof of vaccination prior to orientation.
