WDJT-TV, Weigel Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Milwaukee Wisconsin, is searching for a Full-Time Floor Director
. This entry level position is a perfect opportunity for someone interested in the Broadcasting and News industry. The floor director is responsible for preparing the news studio and ensuring all equipment is accounted for and in working order, working closely with talent and technical director, facilitating communication between the control room and studio, and setting up and breaking down the studio for each show.
Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, take direction, and focus in an exciting fast-paced news studio. Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills with a working knowledge of Windows operating systems are required. This position is second‑shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) including weekends and holidays.
- Prepare the news studio and ensure all equipment is operational.
- Coordinate with talent and technical director for smooth studio operation.
- Facilitate communication between the control room and studio.
- Set up and break down the studio for each show.
- Multi‑task, prioritize, and respond to directions in a fast‑paced news environment.
- Entry‑level experience in broadcasting or news preferred.
- Strong listening, communication, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Ability to work second‑shift hours, including weekends and holidays.
