Position: Safety Engineer - Commercial Construction (Southern Wisconsin)

We are seeking a Safety Engineer who is energized by active jobsites, earns credibility with field teams, and is committed to building a strong, practical safety culture. This role partners closely with project teams and trade partners to promote safe work practices across commercial construction projects in southern Wisconsin. You'll play a visible, meaningful role in protecting our people, strengthening our safety culture, and supporting successful project delivery.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with project management and field leadership to develop and implement site-specific safety plans
  • Conduct regular, documented jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Lead and support incident investigations with a focus on prevention, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Deliver safety training, new-hire orientations, and toolbox talks
  • Identify safety trends and proactively implement risk-reduction strategies
  • Review subcontractor safety programs and participate in preconstruction and preparatory meetings
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and required postings
  • Serve as a trusted safety resource and liaison between field teams and leadership
  • Represent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety Council
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field OR 5-7 years of commercial construction safety experience in lieu of a degree
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (required)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels without relying on authority
  • Practical, solutions-oriented approach with sound judgment and follow-through
  • Ability to work on active construction sites, including walking jobsites, climbing ladders, and navigating multi-level structures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.
