This position supports estimating, project control, quality management and construction activities across projects in the construction industry.
Responsibilities- Perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs, creating material price lists, and researching labor, material and equipment costs.
- Utilize Timberline to prepare or assist in the preparation of Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) and design build projects.
- Research historical data and compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedents for future estimates.
- Review and file pricings received from project managers or procurement against OPCCs; contact subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
- Participate in pre-bid job walks and Bid-Day quote tabulations.
- Supervise and direct overall project activities of basic to moderately complex as assigned; provide technical, field and site administration support to field and project personnel.
- Prepare and review submittals of moderate to high complexity; issue construction documents and layout to field crews and answer questions; prepare and interpret specifications and drawings for foremen and superintendents.
- Maintain and edit all field as-built drawings; complete RFIs and assist project manager with change management.
- Coordinate timely arrival of parts, equipment, materials and installation with field personnel and vendors.
- Develop or assist in the development of purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment to the client; develop simple to complex scopes of work.
- Perform surveying functions and verify final locations and elevations; prepare required documentation such as PXPs, bid documents from addenda, status reports, meeting minutes, O&M manuals, warranties, spare parts and punch lists.
- Assist design engineers and labor/subcontractors to determine solutions for unexpected site conditions; develop agendas and attend project meetings with project team, subcontractor and owner.
- May independently manage small and/or basic pieces of construction projects; prepare project scheduling and financial analyses for routine and non-routine project reporting.
- Develop detailed baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), activity logic, dependencies and durations; work with project controls to update schedules and determine critical path; develop Time Impact Analysis (TIA) schedules for change management.
- Generate reports and data for subcontract change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates and resolution of potential schedule/work problems; support collection of subconsultant and subcontractor schedule and cost submittals.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; review the work of junior staff; develop the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for review.
- Review contract specifications, quality plans, design and construction submittals, and drawings; conduct field inspections to evaluate work and materials; document deficiencies and deviations.
- Maintain QA/QC reporting for project sites; work with Health & Safety professionals to identify DFOWs and develop AHAs and portions of the Health & Safety Plan.
- Evaluate safety performance metrics of potential subcontractors and vendors; assist in health and safety reporting and daily job reports.
- Participate in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe activities; communicate concerns or near misses to project manager.
- Work with project manager and VDC team to develop project capability needs and VDC Plan; deploy and support construction technology and virtual design applications; assist in modeling efforts and deliverables, including quantity takeoffs from the model, drone data analysis and clash detection.
- Collaborate with design and project teams via VDC, BIM and traditional methods; contribute to Estimated Cost At Completion (ECAC) analysis.
- Monitor original and current budget by project task codes; develop period-sensitive project reporting; conduct change order tracking with subs and clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency contingent on duties and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Good problem solving, strong computation, communication, reading and interpreting construction documents; knowledge of contract specifications, QA/QC processes and BIM/VDC familiarity.
