Safety Engineer - Commercial Construction (Southern Wisconsin)

We are seeking a Safety Engineer who is energized by active jobsites, earns credibility with field teams, and is committed to building a strong, practical safety culture.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with project management and field leadership to develop and implement site‑specific safety plans.
  • Conduct regular, documented jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Lead and support incident investigations with a focus on prevention, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver safety training, new‑hire orientations, and toolbox talks.
  • Identify safety trends and proactively implement risk‑reduction strategies.
  • Review subcontractor safety programs and participate in preconstruction and preparatory meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
  • Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, including OSHA logs and required postings.
  • Serve as a trusted safety resource and liaison between field teams and leadership.
  • Represent Wisconsin on the Pepper Safety Council.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Engineering, or a related field OR 5–7 years of commercial construction safety experience in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Certification (required).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels without relying on authority.
  • Practical, solutions‑oriented approach with sound judgment and follow‑through.
  • Ability to work on active construction sites, including walking jobsites, climbing ladders, and navigating multi‑level structures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Wisconsin.
