This position is responsible for managing and coordinating all facets of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments at our property. The Executive Housekeeper is expected to ensure high levels of guest service and satisfaction with cleanliness and comfort of guest facilities; this includes guestrooms, laundry, public areas, meeting space, department storage areas and work areas.

You are a coach and mentor to your team, while still holding them accountable for their results. You are in turn accountable for the entire housekeeping department. From on-boarding, training, leading, mentoring, performance management and succession planning, you support your team’s development while meeting the of the guest and achieving the company’s goals.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervision of all housekeeping employees.
  • Complete room updates & communicate with front desk for early arrivals and departures, extended stays on timely manner.
  • Advise managers, desk clerks, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy.
  • Confer with staff to resolve performance and personnel problems, and to discuss company policies.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Establish and implement operational standards and procedures for the departments supervised.
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
  • Forecast necessary levels of staffing and stock at different times to facilitate effective scheduling and ordering.

    Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Instruct staff in work policies and procedures, and the use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
  • Investigate complaints about service and equipment, and take corrective action.
  • Issue supplies and equipment to workers.
  • Maintain required records of work hours, budgets, payrolls, and other information.
  • Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
  • Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
  • Screen job applicants, and hire new employees.
  • Required to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.
Experience & Qualifications
  • MUST be able to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • MUST have experience in working in a leadership role in hotels, hospitals, or multi-unit housing as a Housekeeping or Cleaning Supervisor with great care and attention to detail to ensure quality.
  • REQUIRED to have a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • You like being in the driver’s seat and leading others to success
  • Office skills, ability to use standard office equipment and demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Executive Housekeeper is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the facility and property for duration of scheduled shift.
  • Frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arm.
  • Must be able to operate a personal computer.
  • Required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with assistance.
