Legal Secretary
A respected nationwide defense firm is seeking a detail‑oriented Legal Administrative Assistant for a full‑time, onsite contract role covering a medical leave. This position supports attorneys and legal staff with a wide range of administrative, document, and workflow management tasks. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, maintains professionalism under pressure, and demonstrates strong teamwork and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities Document & Administrative Support- Type, transcribe, proofread, and revise legal documents and correspondence.
- Save, profile, and organize pleadings and other materials within the firm's document management system.
- Create and maintain notebooks, case files, and large mailings.
- Provide onsite support including mailing, copying, printing, and scanning.
- Operate office equipment such as PCs, printers, phones, copiers, fax machines, and typewriters.
- Arrange meetings and coordinate travel logistics.
- Prepare detailed travel itineraries.
- Complete expense reports, reimbursement requests, and Chrome River submissions.
- Enter billable time for attorneys.
- Revise time entries and prebills as needed.
- Participate actively in team meetings to discuss workload and project updates.
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and firm personnel.
- Share information and training tips to support team efficiency.
- Update project logs with pending and completed tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality in all business matters.
- Stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Prior legal administrative or litigation support experience preferred.
- Strong typing, proofreading, and document formatting skills.
- Familiarity with document management systems and billing/time entry software.
- Experience with Chrome River is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work fully onsite and manage competing priorities.
