Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Accountant at Tabak Law, LLC, based in Greater Milwaukee. The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of Tabak Law by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role assists with day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and coordination with leadership to support sound financial decision-making within a fast-paced law firm environment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.
- Assist with payroll coordination and related reporting.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation in accordance with firm policies.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or progress toward certification preferred but not required.
- 4-7++ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in a professional services or law firm environment is a plus.
