Senior Accountant (Grant Management & Compliance Specialist)

Senior Accountant

Are you a financial expert with a passion for community impact? We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to serve as our primary authority on grant financial management and compliance. This isn't just a "numbers" role—it’s a mission-critical position where you ensure the funding that fuels our community services is managed with the highest level of integrity and precision.

Reporting directly to the CFO
, you will be the bridge between our program staff and our federal/state funders, ensuring every dollar is accounted for and every regulation is met.

What You’ll Do
  • Master the Grant Lifecycle: From budget development and monitoring expenditures to complex closeouts, you’ll lead the agency’s grant funding activities.
  • Ensure Gold-Standard Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and manage the single audit process.
  • Provide Strategic Analysis: Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis and translate complex financial data into actionable insights for program directors.
  • Handle Full-Cycle Accounting: Perform month-end closings, complex balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure accurate allocation of common agency costs.
  • Act as a Key Liaison: Communicate directly with grant project officers and federal agencies to resolve billing discrepancies and provide justifications.
What You Bring
  • The

    Experience:

    3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
    Healthcare accounting (specifically in an FQHC setting) is highly preferred.
  • The

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA license is a plus.
  • The Technical

    Skills:

    Deep expertise in Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and non-profit grant accounting. You should be an Excel power user (pivot tables, vlookups) and comfortable with ERP systems (Sage Intacct experience is a "plus").
  • The Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail, a knack for solving complex puzzles, and the ability to explain technical grant regulations to non-finance teammates.
