Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting accurate reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial results.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure data integrity.

- Prepare and post journal entries while adhering to accounting standards.

- Perform account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and statements.

- Monitor and manage grant accounting processes, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and financial reviews.

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve organizational performance.

- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

- Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and general ledger activities.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with grant accounting and compliance procedures.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.

- Strong communication and organizational abilities.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
