Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Full-Cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to join our client's dynamic and growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the entire AR process, including billing, collections, account reconciliation, reporting and collections. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring timely payments, maintaining customer relationships, and supporting overall financial performance within an industry heavily reliant on project-based accounting structures.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Generate and issue accurate invoices in line with contract terms and client agreements, ensuring compliance with industry and company standards.

+ Maintain detailed records of customer accounts and payments, ensuring up-to-date status and identifying potential issues early.

+ Proactively manage collections by contacting clients, researching past-due invoices, and negotiating payment plans where necessary to resolve outstanding balances.

+ Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable ledgers against financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

+ Prepare detailed AR aging reports, cash flow forecasts, and other financial reports related to receivables for management review.

+ Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams to address billing or payment-related questions and ensure smooth communication on financial matters.

+ Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and GAAP standards in AR processing.

+ Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

- 2+ years of proven experience in accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and cash applications.

- Contracting or construction industry highly preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.

- High attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications. Seeking a proficient Excel user (vlookups, formulas)
