Payroll & Accounting Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll & Accounting Clerk to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This part-time role, offering 25-30 hours per week, is a Contract to permanent position that involves managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting principles and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Process payroll from start to finish, ensuring compliance with wage laws and accurate benefit deductions.

- Maintain employee payroll records and address inquiries related to compensation.

- Handle accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing, vendor management, and reconciliation of ledgers.

- Manage accounts receivable by posting payments, monitoring collections, and preparing related financial reports.

- Ensure proper handling of W9 and 1099 forms while adhering to tax regulations.

- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

- Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and workflows.

- Utilize Google Suite tools to support accounting functions and generate reports.

- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures while identifying areas for improvement. Requirements - Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and accounting roles.

- Proficiency in bookkeeping practices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- Experience with Google Suite and other accounting software.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to managing financial tasks.
