Hotel Accounting Clerk

The Iron Horse Hotel Milwaukee is hiring an Accounting Clerk. The Hotel Accounting Clerk manages daily financial tasks, like processing invoices, recording revenue, handling payments (cash, credit cards, petty cash), reconciling accounts, and assisting with month-end closing, ensuring accuracy for reports and smooth hotel operations, often using accounting software and Excel. It's an entry-level finance role crucial for the hotel's financial health, requiring strong attention to detail and organization.

• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing invoices, verifying receipts, and managing vendor payments.
• Revenue Tracking: Recording daily revenue, processing deposits, and preparing cash reports.
• Reconciliation: Reconciling credit card statements, house banks, and general ledger accounts.
• Financial Reporting: Assisting with journal entries and supporting month-end closing.
• Petty Cash Management: Handling petty cash reimbursements and audits.
• Data Entry & Record Keeping: Maintaining organized financial records and filing systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience (hospitality preferred).
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (PMS knowledge a plus).
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
