Perrigo Nutritionals, located in Georgia, VT, is seeking a highly motivated Process Mechanic for the Night Shift (6pm - 6am ET) on a biweekly 2/2/3 schedule. Role Summary
The Process Mechanic will maintain and troubleshoot packaging and manufacturing process equipment and piping systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support a clean, safe, and organized work environment on the night shift. The position may involve other duties within the plant as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits

Plant Closure Disclaimer
In March 2025, Perrigo announced the migration of current operations from Milton, VT to Eau Claire, WI with an estimated sunset date of July 2027. Production will continue for approximately two more years; severance is offered per Perrigo policy with details provided in the original posting.
Scope of the Role
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical aspects of packaging and manufacturing process equipment and piping in compliance with SOPs; ensure a clean, organized workspace (5S).
- Perform machine rebuilding, repair, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and moving equipment (e.g., packaging equipment, sanitary valves and actuators, sanitary pumps, gear and belt driven assemblies, conveyors, belt and chain tensioning and alignment).
- Perform general facility maintenance (grounds, HVAC, plumbing).
- Create and complete work orders; communicate with other mechanics and technicians across shifts in a team environment.
- Identify and implement process improvements related to safety, quality, and productivity; participate in special projects and related duties.
- Maintain order in the Maintenance Shop and adhere to 5S standards.
- Participate in training and career development as assigned; perform other duties as needed.
Experience and Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting or similar environment.
- Good math and reading comprehension; ability to read, speak, and understand English (or country-specific language for applicable location).
- Must meet training requirements local to the role.
Preferred Experience
- Mechanic certification in complex industrial or automotive repair/rebuild procedures.
- Welding and/or machinist certification(s).
- Experience operating lathe, mill, and other fabrication equipment.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision; read and utilize repair manuals and drawings.
- CMMS experience (e.g., SAP) and general computer skills; familiarity with utility systems (steam, water, gas) in a manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements
- Work from ladders and lifts; frequently lift 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods; capable of bending, stooping, and working in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and calipers; good visual and hearing acuity for safe operation.
- Must wear appropriate PPE and may be required to wear respirators; medical clearance and certain safety prerequisites apply.
