GENERAL

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quarry Scale House Attendant is primarily responsible for operating the scales and accurately weighing incoming and outgoing trucks loaded with aggregate materials. You will be responsible for record keeping in accordance with company policy and MSHA rules & regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, be dependable, trustworthy, knowledgeable, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires the ability to multitask effectively and interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Accurately operate the truck scales to determine the weight of incoming and outgoing quarry materials.

* Record weight information into a computer system including tracking numbers, load type, and timestamps.

* Direct truck drivers entering and exiting the scale house area to ensure smooth flow of traffic

* Generate and distribute scale tickets with accurate weight details to drivers.

* Verify that loads meet weight specifications and quality standards.

* Answer driver's questions regarding weighing procedures and address any concerns

* Other duties may be assigned.

* Assist with sending MSHA logs, forms, and filing of such.

* Responsible for addressing the public, ensuring that they are aware of the quarry/HMA plant rules and requirements, and record in daily visitor logs.

* Responsible for directing current and potential customers, and public at large to the proper point of contact.

* Ability to keep working environment in a neat and clean condition.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work overtime as needed by your supervisor.

* Stand, kneel, walk, etc. for long periods of time.

* Willing to take OSHA/MSHA courses to ensure safety knowledge.

* Willing to take First Aid courses to ensure safety knowledge.

* All other duties as required by business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year experience (Preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Valid Driver's License

Must pass background and drug screen prior to hire
