Summary

The MFCC Parent Education and Family Support Programs Coordinator is an entrepreneurial role with opportunities to shape the future of MFCC’s family support program trajectory. The role focuses on strengthening families by increasing parents’ knowledge of and access to resources and services necessary to address family needs and goals. You will work directly with parents, individuals or groups, providing guidance, encouragement, and support to connect with and engage in programs and resources that help them raise healthy, thriving children.

Duties
  • Facilitate high‑quality and engaging family programs as needed
  • Cultivate strong family‑to‑staff partnerships
  • Provide strategic leadership and community development
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • A passion for supporting families and understanding the challenges associated with parenting; lived experience as a parent is highly valued
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and minimum two years of successful work experience in human services, parent/adult learning settings, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to establish positive relationships
  • Knowledge of local and state community resources and services for families
  • Competence in technology, data systems, and social media
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills
  • Commitment to ongoing learning to update skills and acquire new knowledge as needed
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Some travel required; reliable transportation required
Physical/environmental Requirements
  • Sit, stand and/or move about for extended periods
  • Actively engage in play activities with youth and caregivers
  • Visual acuity to read, write printed materials and computer screens, and observe movement
  • Hearing and speech abilities for ordinary and telephonic conversations, and to speak to small groups of children
  • Ambulatory ability to move around classrooms, playgrounds, and assist with play‑oriented learning activities
  • Ability to lift children, carry, push and move light‑to‑medium weight supplies (under 40 lbs) on an intermittent basis
