General Description
Responsible for the monitoring and control of security electronics within the Santa Rosa County Jail. Answers telephone and intercom calls and directs calls to appropriate offices.

- Operates control panels and equipment in detention control rooms
- Coordinates entry and exit into multiple secured areas in normal and emergency conditions
- Answers telephones and directs calls
- Monitors audio and video surveillance equipment associated with detention security
- Answers intercom calls
- Logs visitors into and out of the facility
- Monitors and reports inmate behavior which includes foul or profane language and obscene gestures
- Maintains logs of daily operations
- Performs related duties as required
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Ability to type accurately
- Ability to listen
- Stand for long periods of time
Work shift work.

Ability ToSpeak clearly and distinctly in well‑modulated pleasant voice using correct grammar and choice of words; react calmly during emergency situations and utilize common sense and interpersonal skills when dealing with excited persons; write detailed and legible reports.
SkillsOperate a computer; operate a multi‑line telephone, deal effectively with the public.
Minimum QualificationsGraduation from high school or GED. One year of experience in dealing with the public.
LicenseApplicant must have a valid Florida Driver's License at the date of hire and maintain said license while employed in this position.
AdditionalMust successfully pass CVSA, drug screening, physical exam, and background investigation. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays when required.
