Join the State Attorney's Office, First Judicial Circuit and be part of a dynamic team. We have four counties in the First Judicial Circuit – Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton. We are looking to hire a Legal Assistant I in Milton, FL (Santa Rosa). This is a full-time position – Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of secretarial and clerical duties in assisting Assistant State Attorneys with routine and detailed tasks.
  • Set up and maintain attorney calendars.
  • Manage documents and pull files for the daily court calendar.
  • Make travel arrangements for attorneys.
  • Screen calls and provide information to the general public.
  • Attend courtroom sessions as required.
  • Review files and prepare appropriate motions and orders.
Qualifications

To successfully perform the duties of this position, candidates must have a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, office experience, keyboarding skills, and work well in a team environment. Candidates must be highly motivated, extremely organized, and be able to handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion. We are looking for self-starters who accept challenges, work well under pressure, and require minimal supervision after training.

Minimum

Training and Experience Required

A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of secretarial or clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
