Job Summary

The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking a Logistics Shipping Manager, responsible for overseeing all outbound logistics and distribution activities within a food production environment. This position ensures the safe, timely, and temperature-controlled delivery of prepared meals to client sites, while maintaining strict compliance with HACCP, food safety, transportation, and occupational health and safety requirements.

Reporting closely with Production leadership and the Purchasing & Receiving function, the Logistics Shipping Manager leads and supports a team of Delivery Drivers, optimizes delivery routes and schedules, and ensures fleet readiness and regulatory compliance. The role plays a critical part in maintaining service reliability, food quality, and operational efficiency, and provides cross-coverage for the Purchasing & Receiving Manager as required to ensure continuity of supply chain operations.

This position is well suited to a hands-on, results-driven leader with strong logistics expertise, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, regulated production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all outbound logistics and distribution for Cook Chill meal production.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, temperature control, and transportation regulations.

  • Supervise, train, and support Delivery Drivers, including performance management and safety compliance.

  • Plan and optimize delivery routes, schedules, and load plans to meet operational and client needs.

  • Maintain fleet readiness, shipping documentation, and regulatory records.

  • Collaborate with Production, Purchasing & Receiving, and Food Safety teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.

  • Respond to delivery issues, service disruptions, and client concerns.

  • Enforce health, safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

  • Provide operational coverage for the Purchasing & Receiving Manager as required.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in food service logistics, transportation, or distribution.

  • Supervisory or management experience, preferably in a unionized environment.

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and temperature‑controlled logistics.

  • Experience managing delivery teams, routes, and transportation schedules.

  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.

  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office and logistics or food service management systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.

  • Successful completion of required background and security checks.
