Job SummaryThe Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing and Receiving Manager in Ontario to lead the coordination of inventory, procurement, and receiving functions in a high‑volume food service environment. This role is responsible for ensuring food and non‑food supplies meet quality and specification requirements, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and supporting uninterrupted operations through effective supplier coordination and inventory controls.
The Purchasing and Receiving Manager works closely with the receiver, Production leadership, and the Assistant Director of Food Services to manage par levels, deliveries, and food cost targets while upholding food safety, quality assurance, and health and safety standards. This position provides hands‑on leadership to receiving and store keeping staff in a unionized setting, drives continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives, and exemplifies our core values of Safety, Respect, Care, Integrity, Collaboration, and Excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Manage procurement and inventory of food and non‑food supplies to meet operational needs.
- Oversee receiving, storage, rotation, and inventory control processes across sites.
- Supervise and train receiving and store keeping staff in a unionized environment.
- Coordinate supplier deliveries and resolve issues related to quality, quantity, or timing.
- Collaborate with Production and Food Services leadership to meet quality, cost, and service targets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and occupational health & safety standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory systems, documentation, and reporting.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in food service purchasing and inventory management.
- Advanced Food Safety Training with strong knowledge of food safety, WHMIS, and OH&S regulations.
- Eligibility for membership in the Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC).
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and food service inventory systems (Food Co preferred).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; customer‑focused and team‑oriented.
- Ability to meet physical demands and required security clearances.
