Clinical Nurse Specialist, Healthcare Nursing
Are you passionate about safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and young people? Due to retirement of the current post holder we are looking for a Named Nurse for our Children Looked After Team. The post holder will take a key role in ensuring the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities and complies with all relevant legislation and guidance. This is a senior clinical post supporting children looked after and providing professional and clinical leadership, expert clinical advice and consultancy to staff and working collaboratively with local authorities, education, primary care and carers to promote positive outcomes and advocating the needs and rights of children who are looked after, making a meaningful difference.
Applicants are required to have significant experience as a registered nurse working in senior roles across the NHS with demonstrable experience at a multi‑agency level. - To work alongside the Designated Nurse , Named Doctor and the Senior Manager to ensure that high quality, evidence based health services are delivered.
- To provide expert professional advice, supervision, education and training to maintain clinical excellence for all staff who have direct involvement with Children Looked After and their carers. In addition, to provide support to all staff in various agencies who work with Children Looked After.
- To provide expert advice and information to partners to improve the health and wellbeing of Children Looked After.
- To line manage staff within the Milton Keynes CLA health team.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership, advanced knowledge and skills, expert advice and support on CLA issues to commissioners and other staff across the NHS and MK Local Authority.
- A supportive and experienced CLA team and management structure with strong leadership , supervision and peer support.
- Access to a wide range of CNWL training, including trauma, attachment, safeguarding and professional development opportunities.
