Job Description

Metalex are one of the UK largest independent stockholders of high performance metals. We are seeking a Warehouse Operative / Fork Lift Truck Driver to join our established and growing team at our Milton Keynes facility. This role is ideal for a reliable and conscientious individual who is keen to develop new skills within a busy warehouse and production environment.

For candidates without previous saw operating experience, the position will initially focus on general warehouse duties, with the opportunity to progress into a Saw Operator role once the individual has demonstrated the required level of competence, safety awareness, reliability, and maturity. Full training will be provided at the appropriate stage.

Key Responsibilities

* Carrying out general warehouse duties including goods in/out, stock movements, and packing

* Fork Lift Truck (FLT) operation - once trained where needed and safe handling of materials

* Preparing orders for despatch and assisting with courier collections

* Supporting production and warehouse operations as required

* Progressing to the safe operation of plate saws and band saws following training and assessment

* Learning to plan and calculate cutting patterns to maximise material utilisation

Skills & Experience

* Previous experience as a Warehouse Operative, Production Operative, Stores Person, or Fork Lift Truck Driver is advantageous

* Forklift licence preferred but not essential (training available)

* Experience operating saws or machinery is beneficial but not required

* Strong awareness of health & safety and ability to follow procedures

* Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new skills
