Salary: £35,500 - £38,500 per annum
Full‑Time / Part‑Time | Rota-based (Days & Waking Nights)
This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly special.
We are opening a brand new children's residential home and are now recruiting an experienced and passionate Team Leader / Deputy Manager to join the founding leadership team. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the culture, standards, and identity of the home from day one, creating a safe, nurturing, and trauma‑informed environment where children and young people can thrive.

As Team Leader / Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the effective running of the home and lead by example on shift.
- Provide strong, consistent leadership to the care team
- Act as the manager in charge when required, taking full responsibility for the home
- Create and maintain a safe, homely, and nurturing environment
- Support children and young people aged up to 17 with daily routines, education, and activities
- Promote trauma‑informed, therapeutic care and positive behaviour support
- Take responsibility for care planning, risk assessments, and quality documentation
- Build strong relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals
- Support staff development through supervision, coaching, and mentoring
- Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and Ofsted readiness at all times
We are looking for a confident and compassionate leader who:
- Is passionate about residential childcare and child‑centred practice
- Leads with empathy, professionalism, and integrity
- Is calm, resilient, and confident in decision‑making
- Enjoys developing others and building strong teams
- Is committed to continuous improvement and learning
- Wants to grow with a new service and help shape its future
- Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
- Working towards, or willing to complete, Level 5 Leadership & Management
- Experience working in a children's residential setting
- Experience supporting safeguarding, care planning, and staff supervision
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Salary of £35,500 - £38,500 per annum (based on 40 hours per week)
