We are seeking a dedicated Cleaning Operative to join our team at HMP Woodhill, a High Security & Adult/Male prison. HMP Woodhill runs like a self‑contained city; it takes hundreds of people to keep it functioning, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed to driving the smooth and safe operation, like a heart that pumps blood through the body – everything we do impacts every prisoner, employee, and visitor, and extends to families and the community.
As a Cleaning Operative you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.
Responsibilities- Support the maintenance and cleaning of high‑security prison facilities.
- Assist in the delivery of cleaning services to maintain safety and hygiene standards.
- Work as part of a team to help ensure prisons are secure and safe for prisoners and staff.
- Experience of working within a cleaning environment
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
- Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
Holidays are 25 days per year plus Bank Holidays, and a range of non‑contractual benefits are provided.
