About the RoleThe Plant Fitter will carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of construction plant. The work is a mix of workshop-based and site support, keeping downtime to a minimum and standards high.
This role suits a Plant Fitter who prefers a well-run environment, clear expectations, and plant that is looked after properly.
What You Will Be Doing- Servicing and maintaining construction and civil engineering plant
- Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults
- Carrying out repairs efficiently and safely
- Inspecting plant to ensure compliance and readiness for site
- Responding to breakdowns when required
- Keeping clear and accurate maintenance records
- Working closely with site teams and management
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety
- Experience working as a Plant Fitter or similar role
- Background with construction, civil engineering, or utility plant
- Strong fault-finding and practical repair skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Relevant mechanical or plant qualifications beneficial
- Long-term, stable workload
- Reputable contractor with a strong order book
- Well-maintained fleet and organised operation
- Mix of workshop and site work
- Sensible management and clear communication
