Location: Milton Keynes (with occasional travel to other offices as required)
Salary: Up to £43,500 (CILEX‑qualified candidates expected at the top end)
A leading firm is seeking a Residential Conveyancing and Plot Sales Paralegal to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong residential property experience who is looking to develop their expertise within a supportive and well‑structured environment.
The successful candidate should have experience across a range of residential property matters, including freehold and leasehold sales, purchases, and refinancing. Experience with plot sales and Housing Association work - such as Shared Ownership, Staircasing, and Right to Buy - is desirable.
Key responsibilities- Reviewing title documents, searches, and supporting papers
- Raising and responding to enquiries, liaising with senior lawyers where needed
- Preparing contract packs and obtaining Land Registry documentation
- Drafting Reports on Title, Reports on Searches, and Mortgage Reports
- Handling Housing Association matters (shared ownership, staircasing, RTB)
- Preparing SDLT/LTT returns, AP1/FR1, MR01/MR04 forms
- Identifying and arranging indemnity insurance policies
- Managing exchanges, completions, and related documentation
- Responding to Land Registry requisitions
- Providing proactive client service, including updating trackers and attending meetings
- Drafting clear day‑to‑day correspondence with clients and lawyers
- Time recording (on selected matters), reviewing accounts reports, and assisting with budgeting
- Preparing completion statements and bills
- Attending marketing and networking events to promote the firm
- Legal qualification (Law Degree / Paralegal / CILEX)
- Strong residential property knowledge, including the conveyancing process and CQS requirements
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal document management systems
- Commercial awareness and a practical approach to problem‑solving
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders
- Excellent academics and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a friendly but busy team
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- A full, clean driving license is preferred due to the travel involved
