Responsibilities- Provide clerical support to the Homecare team – filing, data manipulation, minute‑taking, organising meetings, producing procedures, etc.
- Raise orders against Homecare prescriptions and ensure they reach the Homecare provider in time for the first delivery.
- Process home‑care prescriptions/services and invoices through the JAC pharmacy homecare management system accurately and timely.
- Book out homecare drugs on the Pharmacy JAC computer system against clinically screened prescriptions, cost centres and patient codes.
- Monitor and maintain the pharmacy database in relation to Homecare services and keep all patient records up to date.
- Act as ‘meet and greet’ for visitors to the department as required.
- Deal courteously with telephone calls from patients, healthcare professionals and general enquiries, take messages when required and provide a pleasant point of contact.
- Work under own initiative within defined processes and procedures.
- Assist the Pharmacy Admin supervisor in the smooth running of the Pharmacy Homecare Service.
- Undertake any other relevant activities as may be necessary to provide a quality service.
- Undertake ad‑hoc projects, prepare and collate reports for distribution.
- Co‑operate with staff in other disciplines to help ensure the safe, effective and economic use of medicines.
- Maintain full patient confidentiality when dealing with prescriptions and sensitive information.
- Contribute to the Trust complying with Medicines Management standards, Information Governance, Clinical Governance and Risk Management.
