- Job location:

- Provide specialist Clinical Psychology service to children and families within MK Specialist CAMHS.
- Deliver high‑quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions.
- Conduct psychological risk assessment and management for relevant clients, advising the multidisciplinary team on psychological aspects of risk.
- Maintain clinical effectiveness of practice and service through audit, research and development activities.
- Collaborate in clinical risk management, audit, service evaluation and research.
- Current registration with HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Doctoral level training in clinical/counselling psychology accredited by the BPS (including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, at least two distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology).
- Post‑doctoral training in one or more specialised areas (e.g., CBT, Behaviour Therapy, DBT) and family‑based interventions such as parenting work.
- Pre‑qualification training in research methodology, staff training or other applied psychology fields.
- Post‑qualification DBT intensive training and/or trauma training.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment across all care settings (outpatient, community, primary care, inpatient).
- Experience working with diverse client groups across the life course, including managing high‑severe presentations and maintaining professionalism in emotive and potentially abusive situations.
- Experience as a specialist clinical/counselling psychologist with regular supervision from a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
- Additional specialist psychological assessment and treatment experience.
- Skill in complex psychological assessment, intervention and management requiring sustained concentration.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for conveying complex, sensitive information to clients, families and professional colleagues.
- Ability to consult with other professional and non‑professional groups.
- Doctoral‑level knowledge of psychological research methodology, design and multivariate data analysis.
- Knowledge of child/young people legislation, safeguarding children and its implications for clinical practice and professional management.
- Knowledge of specialised psychological therapies for difficult‑to‑treat groups (e.g., personality disorder, dual diagnoses, additional disabilities).
- High level knowledge of at least two specialised psychological therapies.
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to the client group and mental health.
