We’re looking for a commercially astute and operationally focused Finance Manager to play a pivotal role within a fast‑paced FMCG/manufacturing environment. This is a key site‑based leadership role, partnering closely with operations and commercial teams to drive performance, margin improvement and sustainable growth.
The roleAs Finance Manager, you will be a core member of the site leadership team, owning site financial performance and providing insight, challenge and support as the business enters its next phase of growth. You’ll be hands‑on and comfortable operating in a high‑volume, operationally complex manufacturing setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a key member of the site leadership team, supporting strategic and operational decision‑making
- Driving commercial and operational initiatives, with a strong focus on margin improvement and cost reduction through annual PIPs
- Owning daily and weekly KPI and variance reporting
- Full responsibility for monthly site management accounts, including variance analysis versus budget and prior year
- Reviewing and challenging capital investment proposals, including ROI, timelines and risk
- Forecasting and budgeting site performance, including capital spend and benefits tracking
- Completing post‑investment appraisals on all capital projects
- Ensuring strong overhead control and promoting a cost‑conscious culture across the site
- Monitoring and maintaining robust internal controls and balance sheet integrity
- Acting as site finance lead on ERP implementation
- Leading, developing and motivating the onsite finance team, embedding a high‑performance and continuous improvement culture
- Working cross‑functionally to provide insight, recommendations and challenge on site performance
This role will suit a finance professional who thrives in an FMCG or manufacturing environment and enjoys being close to operations.
You will bring:
- A recognised finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA/ICAEW or equivalent)
- Proven experience in FMCG and/or manufacturing (essential)
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving business performance through insight and challenge
- Advanced Excel skills and solid ERP experience
- Confidence working with operational and senior stakeholders at all levels
- Natural leadership capability, with experience developing and leading teams
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on approach
