Finance Controller

We're looking for a hands‑on and commercially minded Finance Controller to take ownership of our day‑to‑day financial operations while supporting the Finance Director across planning, reporting, and investment readiness. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the detail but also wants the opportunity to grow strategically.
 
The Finance Controller will:
 
Own and manage the company's day‑to‑day financial operations, including maintaining accurate records in Xero and overseeing payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
Maintain full visibility of the company's cashflow position, producing short- and medium‑term forecasts to support informed financial decision‑
Prepare month‑end management information and reporting packs, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and smooth month‑end close processes.
Coordinate payroll with external providers, managing monthly payroll inputs, approvals, and staff expense reimbursements.
Support financial modelling, scenario planning, and forward‑looking analysis alongside the Finance Director to aid strategy and investment readiness.
Oversee HR and people administration, including contracts, onboarding, personnel records, and compliance with employment policies.

The Finance Controller will have:
 
Strong experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Manager, Assistant FC, Senior Bookkeeper).
Confident user of Xero, with excellent working knowledge of core accounting processes.
Proven cashflow management experience, including forecasting and day‑to‑day monitoring.
Solid understanding of payables, receivables, and credit control, with the ability to manage them independently.
Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy in all financial work.
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or in final stages (highly desirable and signals progression fit).
