The Role

The Enterprise Insight and Investment Team supports high potential growth businesses achieve commercial growth, scale and strengthen their pathways to Investment. We are seeking a highly experienced individual with a background in VC/PE to lead our work in bridging the gap between private capital and public Innovation. As CPCs private capital specialist, you will use your background in VC/PE to coach high-growth SMEs, design new investment vehicles (including potential future funds), lead engagement with the private investment ecosystems, and turn ecosystem insights into commercial value.

components of the role
  • You will lead the development of new CPC Investment propositions - including fund concepts - that unlock capital for innovative place and transport businesses.
  • This will include designing fund structures and developing the business case for new fund concepts and other new propositions.
  • You will work with founders and their teams, helping them to reach investor-ready standards.
  • You will build and manage a targeted portfolio of investors aligned with CPC’s core domains, facilitating high-quality connections between capital providers and the most promising businesses.
Successful candidates will have
  • Proven experience working with investors and deep knowledge of private capital markets across Angel, VC and PE.
  • Possess strong expertise in fund structures (ideally having operated within a fund), operations and valuation methodologies.
  • Confidence in assessing investment readiness, providing targeted coaching, and applying market and commercial analysis to help innovators refine value propositions and business models.
  • Strong track record of building and sustaining investor networks and are comfortable engaging across the investment community; insight into regional investment landscapes is advantageous.

  • Provide technical leadership on investment projects, responsible for shaping, leading and delivering high quality work to budget
  • Increase client confidence in and credibility of CPC, manage sell ons and 2nd phase wins.

  • Develop senior client buy in across a range of stakeholders.
  • Hold face off accountability at senior management levels.
