Financial Accounting Manager

Reed Finance is proud to be working in partnership with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced and commercially astute Head of Financial Accounting.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a senior leadership role within a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be responsible for overseeing financial accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and driving process improvements across the Finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and proven leadership skills to make a significant impact in a growing organisation.

• Lead and manage the Financial Accounts team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of monthly and annual financial statements
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance and minimising financial exposure
• Manage internal controls and provide assurance on accounting risk management
• Drive staff development and performance management, promoting training and resource optimisation
• Manage external and internal audit processes, representing the business alongside senior leadership
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including statutory reporting and tax submissions (VAT, corporation tax)
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Banking functions, ensuring adherence to procedures and timely payments
• Manage provisions and risk cost expectations in alignment with IFRS requirements
• Support preparation of statutory accounts and group reporting requirements

• Must be fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, VAT, and tax compliance
• Proven experience in audit and statutory accounting
• Excellent leadership and team development skills
• Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
• Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders
